How to set up a company in Qatar: the 8 steps

By Chambre Francophone · 05 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Setting up a business in Qatar is not complicated, provided things are done in the right order. Here is the path our clients follow, from the first request to the start of trading.

1. Your request

You describe your project and your goals for Qatar. A member of our team reviews it.

2. The introductory call

A short call to understand your activity and confirm the right approach. This is the time to ask about price, timing and what to expect.

3. Structure and activity

This step decides everything. We confirm how your activity is classified, the framework that fits best (mainland, Qatar Financial Centre or free zone) and whether the company can be 100% owned by you.

4. Documents

Passport copy, photo, police clearance, and your company's documents if it is a shareholder. They are attested and translated into Arabic.

5. Filing with the Ministry of Commerce

The trade name is approved and the registration request is filed with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

6. Commercial Registration

The Ministry issues the Commercial Registration (CR). Your company officially exists in Qatar.

7. Chamber of Commerce and tax

The company joins the Chamber of Commerce and registers with the General Tax Authority, which issues the tax card.

8. Bank account and launch

We support you with opening the company account. You can start working.

The documents you receive

  • the Commercial Registration (CR);
  • the establishment card (Company ID);
  • the Ministry of Labour approval to hire;
  • the tax card;
  • the municipality trade licence, which requires an office lease.

How long, how much

The company is ready in less than one month, from 4,999 EUR. See the cost in detail. And you do not have to come to Doha for the setup: see setting up remotely.

Talk to us about your project

Every activity has its own rules. In a 30-minute introductory call you tell us about your project and we tell you whether we can help and what the next steps are. Book a call or see how we register companies in Qatar.
