How your company setup works

The moment you register, your client portal opens with these steps. Each one is ticked off as we go, and you get an email when something moves.

01

Request received

We have your request. Your file is open and an adviser will be assigned to it.

02

Your information and documents

Send the passport copies of the partners and managers, propose three company names and describe your activity. Your identity is verified online.

03

Legal form confirmed

Limited liability company, branch of your existing company or free zone company: we confirm the form with you. It decides the ownership rules and the licence needed.

04

Trade name approved

Your three proposals go to the commercial registry of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. One is approved and reserved for the company.

05

Company documents signed

The memorandum and articles of association are prepared and signed, and the company's address is given with a lease or a letter. A bank certificate for the capital is added when it is required.

06

Checks and official fees

A background check may be asked for foreign investors. The official fees are then paid. They include the Chamber of Commerce membership and the municipal fees.

07

Commercial Registration issued

The Commercial Registration (CR) is issued. It is the official proof that your company exists.

08

Tax number and bank account

The company registers with the Tax Authority and receives its tax number, then opens its bank account. Your documents are available here.

Our guides on Oman

Setting up a company in Oman: opening a business in Muscat in 2026

Oman allows a company 100% owned by a foreigner, with no legal minimum capital. The steps, the tax, and what changes in 2028 for individuals.

Questions we often get

Can a foreigner own 100% of a company in Oman?

Yes, for most activities. The foreign investment law in force since 2020 removed the old local partner requirement. A short list of activities is still reserved for Omani owners, so we check yours first.

Can I get residency in Oman by investing?

Oman has an investor residency programme with 5-year and 10-year permits, linked to buying property, investing in a company or holding a deposit. The minimum amounts depend on the route, so we confirm the current figures for your situation.

How long does it take to open a company in Oman?

It depends on your activity and on any approvals it needs. After the first call we give you a timeline for your company, and you can follow each step in your client portal.
